Eileen Kollmeyer is a relationship builder and advocate for resilience and hope. Raised in Turlock, California—affectionately known as the "Turkey Capital of the World"—Eileen grew up with humility, grit, and a deep love for people and community.
Her life has been a testament to the human spirit's ability to heal and thrive. At just 18, Eileen survived rape, endured an abusive marriage, and faced the unimaginable pain of losing custody of her two young sons in court. Despite these profound challenges, she found the courage to reclaim her life, fueled by a determination to focus on the positive and believe in her capacity to create a better future.
Now retired after a successful career at Anchorage Community College in the Women's Center and as a Partner Marketing contractor for Microsoft, Eileen lives on a houseboat on Seattle's Lake Union with her husband – the man of her dreams. She dedicates this chapter of her life to sharing her story in her memoir, Leap, a journey of survival, empowerment, and hope that reminds readers they too can find the strength to leap into the life they deserve.
I wanted to show everyone that they hold the power to save themselves. We must also have the courage to speak up or step in when we see someone needing support – because no one should struggle alone.
